About this deal

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the writing, publishing and updating of the content on this page. The DadPad gives you the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support you and your partner, so that your baby gets the best possible start in life. This will help individuals to better cope with the physical and emotional strains that fatherhood can place on individuals and relationships. For this reason, the app also provides information on key behavioural changes for dad to look out for in both himself and his partner. Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behavior or unique IDs on this site.Developed with the NHS and real-life dads, the DadPad gives new dads and dads-to-be the knowledge and practical skills necessary to be able to support themselves and their partner, and give their baby the best start in life. Crucially, the app provides dads with guidance on how to support and seek help (when required) for their partners and themselves as they adjust to their new roles. Being a parent of a child in neonatal care can come with a lot of other emotions and problems to deal with, and DadPad Neonatal can offer additional help and support. Julia Burrows, Director for Public Health and Communities, said: “It’s brilliant to see the broad range of support available to new parents is continually growing in our borough, supporting families to navigate this new chapter in their lives. This will give you time to put your pack to good use and we’re sure you’ll have plenty to keep you busy before then!

All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours.

This is a fantastic, easy to use guide about safe baby care and how to support partners during the perinatal period. Building a strong attachment enables dads to better enjoy their new role and contributes towards positive long-term social, health and educational outcomes for their babies. There are several actions that could result in being blocked including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

We expect that it will enable new dads to play an active role in helping improve the health and wellbeing outcomes families in the city. DadPad is packed with information to give new fathers guidance on how to develop the confidence and practical skills needed to help look after their babies’ physical and emotional needs. The Dadpad® gives dads-to-be the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support themselves and their partner, so that babies get the best possible start in life. Stoke-on-Trent City Council has worked with the NHS Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust and DadPad to launch the easy-to-use, freely downloadable resource for new dads and dads-to-be. The DadPad app is a useful resource before baby arrives and after baby is born, and is designed to be used as a quick, on-the-go reference tool, allowing new dads to enjoy their babies and feel more confident about fatherhood. As well as providing general information to fathers and families, the DadPad has been customised to include local Stoke-on-Trent support groups and services, along with links to the Stoke-on-Trent Community Directory which is regularly updated. The DadPad’s aim is to provide new fathers with guidance on how to develop the mindset, confidence and practical skills needed to meet their babies’ physical and emotional needs.

We listened to what dads, their partners and professionals asked for and combined it all in this new ‘DadPad’. From the start, the DadPad® has been working with mums, dads, Health Visitors, Midwives and Public Health Teams to provide the most relevant and accurate information available, and continues to do so.Having this information can bring many benefits, including helping to improve the mental health of new dads and their partners across the city during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child. The Cornish and Scillonian themed ‘Dad Pad’ recognises the important role dads play in bringing up their children and supporting mum. The child development part is my favourite bit, but there’s things in there, like things about mental health, that I didn’t know about and that I didn’t know you needed to know about.
