The gin’s nose yields a subtle juniper aroma with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes. Having met the people who dedicate their life to conservation is something that made me realise that we have a responsibility for the generations to come.

Having been able to give over half a million euros to African elephant conservation projects over the last six years and making a difference to on the ground is something we are most proud of. Its innovative blend of 14 botanicals combines rare African ingredients with fresh apples that make Elephant Gin distinct from any other. When you subscribe to our VIP Club you’ll receive your exclusive surprise bottle in the middle of the month. Macerated in the gin for several months, these wild berries add a richly rounded, lightly sweet and exquisitely fruity bouquet as well as a typical warm red colour to the spirit. The mouthful is smooth, full and dry, with a freshness of pine, apple and subtle florals, together with orange peel and earthy spice. Made in Germany using African botanicals, Elephant Strength Gin is an excellent example of the navy style. The taste is complex but strikingly smooth, encompassing floral, fruity and spicy flavours, which can be enjoyed both straight and in a cocktail. It contains double the quantity of botanicals used in the original Elephant Gin and shines a light on African buchu. The gin's distinct nose first yields a subtle juniper aroma, with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes. Elephant Gin features an array of African botanicals including Devil's Claw, Lion's Tail, Buchu and Baobab, and through donating 15% of bottle profits to elephant conversation, Elephant Gin has donated over €1 million to date.Instead of the hemp string that ties around the London Dry bottles, the Strength Gin features a rope-like string with a charming miniature anchor hanging from it. It was essential for spirits on-board to have a high strength so that if they spilt, gunpowder would remain explosive.

Inspired by the traditional sundowner experience after a day out in the African bush, Elephant Gin is produced for wildlife adventures and urban explorers alike. Although produced in Germany, the gins are an extraordinary tribute to the continent of Africa: in addition to more classic herbs, roots and fruits, African botanicals such as cassis and lion's tail are used. The term 'schnapps' comes from the Low German language and is a nod to the fact the drink should be consumed quickly. Handcrafted, all botanticals are hand-selected, labels hand-written and each batch named after a special African elephant. They strongly believe that this generation has a responsibility to support the African wildlife today, so others can continue to enjoy it in the future. Each batch is named after past great tuskers and elephants that Elephant Gin’s partner elephant conservation foundations currently help to protect. While its story started in South Africa, Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany with focus on the highest production standards and use of high-quality botanicals, including rare African ingredients to create the gin's distinctive flavour profile. In fact 15% of Elephant Gin’s profits go to two African elephant foundations helping them to survive. Compared to other sloe gins, Elephant Sloe Gin has a lower sugar content paired with higher alcohol volume of 35%. Each batch of Elephant Gin, comprised of just 800 bottles, is named after an elephant, living or dead, that was known personally to the conservationists.
