About this deal

With all of Dilly's books they keep you engaged with the characters and the story line, this one hooks you in from the start and keeps going til the end.

They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. Dilly Court is best known for her dramatic family sagas of domestic-romance fiction, but has also written several standalone novels in the same genre. Virtually destitute and desperate, Eloise is faced with her worst nightmare: she must either go to the workhouse, or abandon her children at the Foundling Hospital.

Ruby, quieter and more modest, has always longed to train as a nurse, a pipe-dream for a girl from her humble background. Rosalind Carey lives along side her siblings at Rockwood Castle and are only a step away from loosing everything, and Piers Blanchland steps in to say he can save them all but can he be trusted. I bought this to complete another set of books by this excellent author and cannot wait to read the whole series. Eleven-year-old Stella Barry is forced into service when her family find themselves living hand-to-mouth.

But Felicia Carey is a selfish woman, believing her voice is her God-given gift that she must share with the world and her home is no longer Rockwood but the stage. Then comes the arrival of a distant cousin Piers Blanchard who says he is the rightful heir to Rockwood. Of course, everyone thinks she has lost her mind and queries what she must be thinking taking in street urchins who will surely pilfer the silver when she isn't looking. as a young girl watches from the cliffs, her brother runs back to the castle and she is left alone in the dark.I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as is is the fourth of the Rockwood chronicles which is compelling to the series of Dilly Court's books and I am looking forwrd to reading her fifth book of the series The Snow bride due to be released on October. But the preventative men are quick to capture some of the smugglers whilst Rosie finds herself injured and in the debt of an unknown boy who rescued her and took her back home to Rockwood Castle. Here, you'll discover not just the publication year, which is essential for understanding the context and evolution of the series, but also a succinct summary that teases the story without spoiling any surprises.

She has never forgotten her loving family and is determined to find out what happened to them – once and for all. London, 1854: twenty-year-old Essie Chapman lives with her father in poverty stricken Limehouse, working on the river as a boatman.Clemency looks set for operatic stardom, but a chance meeting with the mysterious Jared Stone brings danger and intrigue, and threatens to change her life forever. Piers has no choice but to ascquiese leaving Rosalind offering them a place at Rockwood until the mess is sorted out. The first in a series of six, this book opens with 8 year old Rosalind Carey traipsing down to the beach to watch the smugglers bring their loot ashore.

A chance encounter brings Nancy Sunday to the streets of London, where she finds herself amongst a band of street urchins.Dilly Court grew up in North-east London and began her career in television, writing scripts for commercials. Flurries of snow fall on the cobbled streets of Whitechapel and an abandoned baby, swaddled in a blanket, is found on a doorstep in Angel Lane . But Jethro dies unexpectedly, and Charity is faced with eviction when the rent is raised by the unscrupulous landlord. Dilly Court has gained further popularity as the genre has made strides on screen with such shows as Downton Abbey and more recently, Bridgerton. Add in the ridiculous number of typos, poor grammar and phrases that are really not right for the time period and I’m left wondering why I bothered to finish it.
